Biography

Dakotah raced BMX at Lindsey Wilson College and was first introduced to mountain bikes when he rode their dual slalom track on campus. He learned a lot at the school and those skills have stayed with him over the years. His World Cup race run at Windham in 2015 really opened his eyes to wanting to be competitive on the downhill circuit. Something he will always remember is hitting the road gap in a USA jersey on a petition spot to race with everyone screaming USA when he went passed. He realized he could really be competitive in these big races when he placed third at the Crankworx pumptrack. Soon doors opened that led him onto his first professional That raced opened doors to racing with Morpheus that let him on the World Cup DH Team, Unior Devinci Factory Racing and 2 World Cup podiums, and then the YT Mob and now with Intense Factory Racing.

Why do you ride: For the freedom and challenge

What/who started you racing: James McAllister had this crazy idea to take a kid from a skate park in Michigan to race the fastest names in mountain biking… It was all history from there.

Strength: Being well rounded

Weakness: Feeling like every run has to be perfect or it’s a failure.

Most important people in your life and career: My mother, Grandfather and James McAllister.

Best part of racing: When things go right and it feels effortless

Hardest part: When it all falls apart and there is nothing to show for your efforts.

Worst moment in career: First World Cup in Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN) in 2015, crashing twice in my run and not qualifying for finals.

Best moment in career: Winning the Crankworx Pro Dual Slalom in 2015

General career goals: Be at the top of the results list at a World Cup.

Favourite food: Tacos

Favourite reading: I listen to quite a few audiobooks on my training rides

Best idea of having a good time: A freshly prepped Motocross track!

Favourite place to travel to: Anywhere I haven’t ridden my bike before, I love riding new places.

Favourite riding spots and courses: Mont-Sainte-Anne for racing, and Whistler for riding in general.

Advice to beginners: Ride everything. It's only going to make you better!

If I was not a professional mountain biker….. I’d probably be going to the motocross track on the weekends and swinging a shovel at the trails during the week.
