Biography

Gaetan has been riding bikes since he was very young, but first came to the attention most fans when he started scoring great World cup results as a second year junior. His first year as a junior in 2015 was derailed after a crash saw him with a broken pelvis and femur, but in 2016 he scored his first World Cup podium in Fort William, followed by a win in Leogang. He also won the French Junior National Title that year and scored more Junior World Cup wins in Mont-Sainte-Anne and Vallnord. His Elite career has seen other highlights like a French Championship in 2018 and a podium in Mont-Sainte-Anne in 2023.

Why do you ride: I started riding when I was a kid, and I needed to spend my energy. MTB gave me the adrenaline I was looking for in my life.

What/who started you racing: When I do something I always want to do it at the best level possible. The Clock never lies in Downhill.

Weakness: Flat and easy sections are where I struggle the most.

Most important people in your life and career: My parents, my girlfriend, the people that I work with that have the same vision as me.

Racing since: Since I was a Cadet. 14-15 years old.

Professional since: 2015

Best part of racing: Always trying to be the best version of ourselves.

Hardest part: Dealing with my emotions!

Worst moment in career: My first year as a junior when I broke my pelvis and femur.

Best moment in career: My second year as a junior, coming back after injury and having World Cup wins. Also being back on the podium in 2023 at Mont/Sainte/Anne, as an Elite rider.

General career goals: Being a consistent rider fighting for the win.

Favorite food: Asiatic

Favorite reading: Anything which I can learn from.

Favorite music: I’m too open minded in music to select a type.

Best idea of having good time: Being in good shape, surrounded by interesting people, feeling everyone’s good energy.

Favorite place to travel to: I loved LA. I love anywhere where it’s not cold with consistent weather. Near the sea.

Advice to beginners: Believe in yourself. Never let anyone tell you it is not possible.

If I was not a professional mountain biker I would be working in a big competitive company and would try to achieve the highest job, maybe haha

Objectives for 2025:

I would like to be a more consistent rider. I would like to have an Elite overall ranking. Back in the top 10.
